JEALOUSY

This kid is about a year older than I am and he has such an (objectively) interesting portfolio. Whether the clients attract you or not (personally, I'm not a huge fan of the bands he's done for work for), you still have to admit he's pretty good at what he does, and manages to keep it pretty fresh.

Finished the wine label and the book cover redesign.

Really happy with how the wine label turned out (not too shabby for a mock up), and the book cover pretty much conveys what I want it to.

Will post pictures soon, after I catch up on sleep.

Oh, and PS:

Check out Ninth Letter. It's got some neat bits to it, and I really like the design of the website. Diggin' the clean-ness. Makes me wish I went to the U of I in Champaign-Urbana.

DON'T GO TO XPEDX

Go to Paper and More on South Lindbergh. Had I known it even existed a couple of months ago, I'd be that much better off..

They stock this stuff, along with a bunch of super nice metallic and iridescent paper, along with some textured stock that rivals some of the nicer art papers I've used. Holey Moley.

Too busy to post anything worth while, so here's some old news.

The Motions

Created about 4 months ago [primarily] with Kateri and Justin, with some outside help (you know who you are).

Really want to produce an album by the end of this summer.. However, it always boils down to time, money and skill, and one of those three are always missing...

Oh, all-nighters..

SO LITTLE TIME

It's almost as if now that I have no time at all on my hands, I'm so much more inclined to post here.

Upcoming projects:

1. 22" x 34" Poster highlighting the "punk" design movement. (how am I going to do this?!)

2. 1 perfectly designed restaurant menu for a local "higher-end" restaurant. Logotype/perfect typography, etc.

3. Sponsorship packet and final draft of "Save the date" postcard for CORO. Some other things as well..

PS: I bought a Magic Mouse and my life has been turned upside down. Now I just need an auxiliary keyboard and monitor, and my life will be made... One can dream.

WEEKEND UPDATE

Just keeping tabs on myself.

I recently got a job with CORO St. Louis. I'm doing some design work for them, mostly some signage, postcards, and a few pamphlets. They do a lot of work in civic leadership, trying to get others involved in their local/state/federal(?) government.

So far it seems to be going well. I've yet to submit any drafts to them, but I have a good feeling they will like a few ideas.

Also, finally got my business cards finished. Silver lettering screenprinted on black railboard. Strangely enough it works quite well, and the railboard I used [surprisingly] has a nice texture/look to it.

I'll post some more as the semester progresses.
